I don’t own one, but I’ve looked at those as part of my thinking about how a motorcycle could work in my life. I’m leery of the fact those don’t have a suspension system, which means your bike’s suspension is taking more of a beating doing all the work (car dollys tend to work this way, too). It’s not that this set up doesn’t work, it’s just less stable and beats up the towed load more. I’d be tempted to look more at a 4x8 or 5x10 utility trailer (ideally not the harbor freight bolt together one). Has a suspension, still small enough to store just about anywhere, still light enough to tow a bike behind basically anything you can put a hitch on and the flat deck will let you set it up however you want.

Also, that price is CP . I’ve seen that same, or a very similar, trailer out there for like half the price. $2k buys a brand new flatbed car hauler with a wood deck.

Spend the extra cash for a Kendon model - Same concept , but better built. I haven’t used one but have seen plenty around the tracks I frequent.
Add in a Pitbull Trailer Restraint as well. There are videos & forum posts on how to combine the two. Seems expensive, but it is much more secure & will save your bike suspension from over-tightening straps. I have used personally and driven like an a-hole with no issues.

I’d be more tempted by something like this. This is the company I had custom build me the new racecar trailer . They make a good trailer, and they’re happy to build you whatever you want in addition to what is on their dealer’s lots. I think they’ve got a dealer in your part of the state, too.

I’ve never owned one and I don’t know jack shit about them.
I just wanted to give my $0.02 so I could get my ‘participation ribbon’.

My father-in-law bought a similar one, an “Alpha Sport” i believe, for towing his Harley. He said that while it was easy to store, it was tough to get his big Harley onto it, and actually dropped it as a result. He’s selling his now for a standard motorcycle trailer.

My personal recommendation would be to get an actual trailer, even a small one. I’ve towed quite a few trailers and the little ones like this are always a pain to tow behind lighter vehicles. The weight distribution is usually poor, and the build quality isn’t great either.
Renting a cargo van would be my #1 vote, #2 getting a honest to god trailer, and #3 renting/buying a pickup.

What about something like this for his Ninja to go on the back of his GTI?

I found that same trailer for $800 from Northern Tool. IAT97 is right that the vendor listed is way off.

I ’m going to guess 400lbs or so of weight hanging a foot or two behind the rear bumper would be an issue on a GTI . That amount of tounge weight that far back would make most unibody SUV’s squat towards the re ar bumpstops.
